Where Is He Now? Wonder Woman's Lyle WaggonerRichard Eastham and Beatrice Colen also Starred in Wonder Woman
An astonishing thirty years have passed since stereotype-smashing action show, Wonder Woman ended, so what have the cast been up to?
The stars of Wonder Woman all continued acting into the 1980's, appearing in shows such as Murder She Wrote, Falcon Crest and War and Remembrance; while Lyle Waggoner went on to found the hugely successful company, Star Waggons. Steve Trevor – Played by Lyle WaggonerAfter falling in love with Wonder Woman on Paradise Island, the home of the legendary Amazons, army intelligence officer Steve Trevor returned with her to the USA and became an interesting male version of Lois Lane – working as Wonder Woman’s sidekick while failing to recognise her as alter ego, Diana Prince. Lyle Waggoner, 74, was recruited to play Steve Trevor because of the hunky image he’d already cultivated amongst the fairer sex (he appeared in the first issue of Playgirl and almost won the part of Batman, awarded instead to Adam West). He appeared in a long list of television shows and movies throughout the seventies and eighties, including Mork and Mindy, Ellen, The Love Boat and Murder She Wrote. Now extremely wealthy, Lyle made his riches when he founded Star Waggons in 1979, the largest supplier of rental trailers in Hollywood. The company has gone from strength to strength and Lyle has since retired from acting in order to concentrate on his business. He is also a talented sculptor whose work has been displayed at a gallery in Wyoming. Lyle has been married to fellow actress and financial consultant, Sharon Kennedy, for forty-eight years. The couple have two grown up sons and live in Jackson, Wyoming. General Blankenship – Played by Richard EasthamWar Department lackey and boss to Steve Trevor, General Philip Blankenship appeared throughout season one of Wonder Woman. Richard Eastham was 89 when he died in 2005. His last major television role was that of Dr. Howell in Falcon Crest in 1981. He then worked sporadically, appearing in Hart to Hart and two episodes of Dallas in 1991. His final years were sad ones. He outlived Betty Jean, his wife of 60 years; and finally contracted Alzheimer's disease. Etta Candy – Played by Beatrice ColenAlmost unrecognisable from her originally obese, candy loving DC Comic’s incarnation, the television version of Etta Candy was Diana Prince’s (slim) colleague during season one of Wonder Woman. Beatrice Colen enjoyed a prolific acting career, appearing in over two hundred television shows and movies. After working on Wonder Woman, she took roles in the movies; Lifeguard, 1977’s High Anxiety and 1987’s Who’s That Girl? She also appeared in Baywatch and a 1991 episode of The Wonder Years. Beatrice died of lung cancer in 1999 at the tragically young age of 51. Joe Atkinson – Played by Normann BurtonJoe Atkinson took over as Diana Prince’s boss in the second season of Wonder Woman. James Bond alumni Normann Burton (he starred as Felix Leiter in 1970’s Diamonds are Forever) continued to act throughout the eighties, appearing in Chips, Murder She Wrote, St. Elsewhere and 1989’s War and Remembrance. His last movie role was a cameo appearance in 1994’s Ed Wood. He died in Mexico in 2003 aged 69. Wonder Woman - Where Are They Now? Part One
