A future version of Hiro Nakamura stops time in the subway car to deliver a message to Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) ; "Save the cheerleader; save the world." As Hiro restarts time, he urges Peter to visit Isaac, without revealing too much to Mohinder.
Meanwhile, Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) is pursued by Mr. Bennett (Jack Coleman) and his amnesia-inducing colleague. Realizing that they mean him harm, Nathan flies off at near supersonic speed, and still clad only in his pajama bottoms, lands in the car park exactly the way a baseball player slides into base.
He strolls into the diner to ask for a coffee, the use of a phone and a t-shirt from the waitress. An excited Hiro comes over and shakes his hand, and tells Nathan that he is a superhero too, that he can see the future.
“Do I win?” Nathan says.
Hiro nods vigorously, and clearly mellow – or softened by his experiences – Nathan offers Hiro a lift back to town when his car turns up. Back at the hotel, Nathan encounters Niki and admits that it was something special for him. She initially denies that anything happened, and disappointed, he turns away. Later, he demands his campaign contribution be increased.
Matt's realizes that his wife, Janice (Lisa Lackey) still cares for him, and makes a real effort to woo her again, as if they had just met. He goes to the 7-11 and is almost overwhelmed by the thoughts of the other shoppers.
Peter visits Isaac's studio to ask for his help, but Isaac tells him he cannot see the future without the help of heroin, and asks him for money. Peter looks through Isaac's paintings, and finds one of Claire, threatened by a dark, shadowy figure. The painting is unfinished. Staring at it, Peter sees a vision, and realizes that he can finish it. He closes his eyes, and when he opens them, they have clouded over. He begins to paint, seemingly entranced. When he finishes, he and Isaac stare at an image of Claire turned upside down, the top of her skull missing, splayed out in a pool of her own blood.
A ringing phone shocks them out of their fugue, but Isaac tells Peter to ignore it, "Some Japanese guy keeps calling." Realizing that it's Hiro, Peter answers the phone. "My name's Peter Petrelli," he says, "I have a message for you."
When she gets home, Niki is visited by the police and questioned about her fugitive husband's whereabouts; they hear someone sneaking in, but it is only Ando, coming to see his dream woman. The camera pans away to reveal the lurking figure of her husband.
