The wait is nearly over. For weeks Battlestar Galactica fans have been teased with two-three minute segments leading to the highly anticipated two-hour spin-off movie Battlestar Galactica "Razor." With Battlestar Galactica between seasons three and four, fans have been tuning in for seven weeks on the Sci Fi Channel or visiting SCIFI.COM to get a glimpse into the upcoming Battlestar Galactica Razor movie. The "Razor Flashbacks," written by Michael Taylor and directed by Wayne Rose and Felix Alcala, tells of rookie Vipor pilot William Adama (Nico Cortez) as he discovers a dangerous Cylon weapon during the first Cylon War that will come back to haunt him and his crew 40-years later. What's very interesting about the two-three minute flashback segments is that episodes 1-4 aren't scenes from the two-hour movie at all but rather show the events leading up to young Adama discovery of the Cylon weapon. Episodes 5-7 will be seen in Razor as part of a flashback scene. All seven "minisodes" will be included in the upcoming Battlestar Galactica Razor DVD (see below for more info.)
On Monday, Nov. 12, hard core Battlestar Galatica fans were able to attend an advance screening of Battlestar Galactica "Razor" but for those that couldn't attend you can still see it on the Sci-Fi Channel at 9 p.m. est. Saturday, Nov.24. "All hesitation and doubt must be burned away, until all that remains is the honed edge of a living human weapon." It's what the Colonial veterans call a "razor." This sums up what Battlestar Galactica "Razor" is all about. On the eve of a Cylon attack, Lt. Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Jacobsen) reports for duty on the battlestar Pegasus. Mankind's future is forever changed after the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies. Under guidance from her commander, Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes), Shaw is "reshaped" into a "razor" using suicidal battle tactics and brutal war crimes against her own people. The two-hour movie "Razor" follows the untold story of the battlestar Pegasus providing clues to the fate of humanity and serving as a backdrop for season four of Battlestar Galactica. Battlestar Galactica "Razor" is based on the series created by Glen A. Larson.
Universal will release Battlestar Galactica Razor: Unrated Extended Edition DVD on Dec. 4. Fans will be 'fracking' thrilled to know it does come with extras.
